J Bird Jazz

J Bird Jazz is a local Park City favorite featuring the vocal talents of Cody McKinnon and the song writing ability of David Packham.  The J Birds are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase their sound and style at the Park City Jazz Festival.
 
Cody McKinnon, vocalist (18):  Cody moved to Park City from Sand Point, Idaho where he won several vocal competitions.  His silky smooth voice and stage presence are way beyond his years.  Cody has a unique stage presence. 
 
David Packham, piano/song writer:  David played his first professional gig at the age of ten and has been writing and playing music ever since.  David won many jazz musician awards growing up.  David has written literally hundreds of songs and has written, recorded and produced 12 albums.  David loves playing with the J Birds and with his son, John, on bass. 
 
John Packham, Accoustic Bass (16):  John has been with the J Birds since the beginning.  John loves walking the bass.  John will be a junior this fall at Park City High School.  John also plays classical bass in the Park City Chamber Orchestra.
 
Aristides (Ari) Ionnides, Drums:  Ari's the J Bird bus driver who keeps it all together.  Ari moved to Park City from Atlanta where he played professionally for many years.  Ari and David Played together in Take 5 prior to the J Birds.   
 
George Demarest, Trumpet/Flugal Horn:  George is a rare talent.  His chops are second to none.  George, Ari and David have played together around the Park City for several years.
