Since its inception, PCJF has sponsored an annual Jazz Festival that has become a cornerstone event in Park City. As a Foundation, it is our goal, through the medium of jazz music, to increase opportunities for cultural and artistic expression for people of all backgrounds. We foster the transmission of both new and traditional jazz music.

With our education programs and annual Jazz Festival, we broaden audience involvement and access to this uniques American art form. The primary purpose of the education programs offered by PCJF is to provide performance opportunities, access, instruction, and continued musical education for our community.

By educating public school teachers and students in the art of jazz, with its strong emphasis on improvisational skills, our educationl programs inspire the ability to think creatively and independently.

Since its inception, PCJF has provided to the community:

  • The Park City Jazz Festival, held each August. Ticket revenue helps fund educational programming and musical scholarships. Reduced price admission tickets are offered to locals and are free to children, in order to broaden the spectrum of our attendees.
  • Education Day, held each year on the Saturday of Jazz Festival. This day of FREE music clinics brings the best of today's jazz artists to the student or enthusiast in an intimate setting, where the language of jazz can be translated to the next generation.  Clinic topics vary, depending on Festival performers.  Attend the clinics and also receive a FREE General Admission ticket to the Park City Jazz Festival.
  • Scholarships for individual music students
  • Sponsorship of regional jazz and educational festivals hosting both state and national jazz bands.
  • Teacher Training Institute, held each June to support music teachers as they develop and hone the skills necessary to teach the art of improvisation through jazz music.
  • Support of the PCJF All-Star Student Jazz Combo
  • Jazz Music Outreach programs to students across Utah
